Ever reliable Patrick Jonah Kakande was the hero for SC Villa as they picked maximum points against Gaddafi FC as the two teams faced off on Thursday in Jinja.

The diminutive forward who is celebrating his birthday today produced the lone goal of the game that guided the Jogoos to victory.

The win put a halt to a run of three successive draws that the Blues had registered recently.

In a closely contested game, SC Villa who have been wasteful in front of goal recently, it was Kakande who provided the decisive moment in the 76th minute.

Kakande calmly controlled a long pass from Ronald Ssekiganda and beat two Gaddafi players in small space before slotting the ball beyond goalkeeper Andrew Ssekandi.

It should be noted that Ssekandi had saved Umar Lutalo’s penalty in the first half.

The win takes SC Villa to fourth place on 45 points, two behind leaders Kitara FC who have played a game more.

Gaddafi FC on the other hand are 13th on 19 points, just one above the drop zone.
