It was a brilliant start for St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde, Buddo Secondary School, Amus College, Bethel Convenant School, Elite School and other schools during the opening day of boy’s basketball at the 2024 USSSA Fresh Dairy Games in Luweero.
Boys’ basketball threw off at Janan Secondary School courts on Sunday, 28th April 2024.
St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde opened with a 38-22 win over hosts Ndejje SS before a 44-22 victory against St Leo’s Kyegobe during a late evening duel.
The brave performance is attributed to the outstanding display from their star players as Joseph Ngama, Mustafa Hamuli, Wal Wakow, skipper Malcom Omondi, Aman Gulan and others.
“The start was promising and good. We want to keep winning game after game” Daudi Mwasa, games master at St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde stated.

Defending champions Buddo Secondary School defeated Masaka SS 53-16 and humbled rivals Kibuli SS 34-14 in a tense enticing duel.
Elsewhere, debutants Amus College School also had a brave start with two victories over Ssaku and Kabalega SS; 52-12 and 30-17 respectively.
The other school that won both of their matches was Janan Secondary School.Optimizing upon the home advantage, Janan SS condemned Aga Khan 37-14 and Jinja SS 44-07 to set the ball rolling.

Girls’ basketball is happening at Ndejje Senior Secondary School courts.
Match day two will continue on Monday as well as the official opening of the games at Ndejje University sports complex.
Besides basketball, the Fresh Dairy Games also involve Hockey, Rugby (15’s), Girls’ football, Table Tennis and Badminton.
