Buddu Ssaza management has officially named Simon “Dunga” Ddungu as their football team head coach for the upcoming 2024 season.
Ddungu takes over from Simon Peter Mugerwa who handled the team last season.

He will work with Isma Ndawula as the first assistant coach, among other officials yet to be confirmed.
Christened as Dunga, after the famous Brazilian legendary World Cup winning captain, Ddungu brings experience to Buddu having won two Masaza Cup trophies.
Ddungu has previously worked with Mawokota (2013 and 2019), Gomba (2017), Buddu (2018), Busiro (2022), Mawogola (2020) and lately Ssingo (2021 and 2023).

He is one passionate coach about his job with a hands-on mechanism ready to give the best shot forward to deliver results with a positive attack-minded playing philosophy.
The new season is ear-marked to kick off in June 2024.
The Masaza Cup football tournament is played by players below the top tier division (Star Times Uganda Premier League) and second division (betPawa FUFA Big League) as well as those yet to play for the national team (Uganda Cranes).
