Ugandan Chef Dorcus Bashema Kirabo a.k.a Mama D is yet to receive an official confirmation for setting the world record for the longest cookathon in 2023 and she has to wait a little longer.

On the morning of Thursday 28th December 2023, Mama D, set a new World Record for the longest cookathon, reaching beyond the 119 hours and 57 minutes mark that Alan Fisher recently set.

She, however, had to wait for a couple of weeks after submitting her evidence of the record to Guinness World Records for review before she could be officially acclaimed as a World Record holder.

To date, the evidence of Mama D’s set record is yet to be approved.

Via X, Mama D reveals that the evidence she submitted to GWR for review was found unsatisfying and she has been requested for further evidence.

Hello Ugandans that have been awaiting alongside me for a response regarding the Cookathon, here is the day and it appears that GWR needs Further Evidence so we get to wait a little longer.

The mail from the GWR Record Management Team shared by Mama D reveals them requesting more “videos of the full evidence alone (without the news footage)” so that they can clearly see the attempt.

It should be recalled that a couple of other individuals worldwide have already attempted to beat the provisional time set by Mama D.
