Nasser Mutebi has again registered his name among Masaka rally winners after the official results from the weekend’s event confirmed him the actual winner on Wednesday.

By the end of the SMC Masaka rally last Sunday, Jas Mangat was the provisional winner following his dominant race.

However, Mangat and co-driver Enoch Oling were disqualified after the times review sighted he was time-barred.

Mangat developed mechanical issues going through a red flagged stage to the next control.

Following a review of the results, second placed Nasser Mutebi was elevated to first position  with Moustapha Mukasa taking on second. Jonas Kansiime completed  the podium in third.

“I am pleased that the officials did the right thing. The new results are not about me winning. But it is all about following the rules. And that’s what they did,” said Mutebi.

“Second, being a winner in Masaka is not much of a surprise to me. I am from Masaka, my first victory was registered here. So, entering the event I had a great feeling for good results,” he added.

In the two-wheel drive, Godfrey Nsereko scooped the category victory followed by Edward Kirumira and Julius Semambo in second and third respectively.

The next round of NRC is the Pearl of Africa rally scheduled for next month.
