St Julian High School Seeta 0 (4) – 0 (3) Bukedea Comprehensive School

Amus College School from Bukedea district will face Mukono’s St Julian High School Seeta in the final of the 2024 USSSA boy’s football championship in Masaka city.

This final will take place on Sunday, 5th May 2024 after grueling matches from the changed format of the group stages, round of 32, 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals.

Amus College School, beneficiaries of a double petition at the round of 16 and quarter final stage eliminated the defending champions St Mary’s Kitende during a tense and dramatic shoot-out, winning 10-9.

On a flooded surface of Kitovu Arena following the overnight and morning down-pour, normal time for this semi-final clash failed to produce any goal.

Upon the shoot-out, Amus College School triumphed 10-9 to spark wild celebrations from their players, technical personnel and fans.

The Bukedea based school had earlier lost 3-2 to Jinja SS after a 1-all draw at the round of 16, but, successfully petitioned to storm the quarter final.

In the quarter final against another Jinja entity, it was total misery; falling 3-0 to Jinja Progressive Academy.

Like against Jinja SS, Amus College also petitioned Jinja Progessive Academy to qualify to the semi-final via a board room decision.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final between debutants St Julian High School Seeta and Bukedea Comprehensive School ended in favour of the former.

St Julian High School Seeta won 4-3 in a shoot-out after normal time had ended goal-less.

Under head coach Felix Kawooya Ssekabuuza, the Seeta based school is only playing in their maiden national championship as Bukedea Comprehensive is making the second appearence at the the nationals.

The four semi-finalists are assured of slots to represent Uganda at the 2024 FEASSSA Games that will be hosted in Uganda at Bukedea.
