UCU vs Nkumba – 3PM

Uganda Christian University and Nkumba University lock horns in a highly anticipated University Football League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

As the clock ticks, the two sides will be finalising preparations ahead of epic clash that will climax the 2024/25 campaign.

Having won the title in 2019, UCU will be seeking to lift the second while Nkumba has lost three finals previously.

UCU head coach Jimmy Kintu asked for calmness and confidence ahead of their final assignment of the season.

“We have to stay calm and reflect on what we ought to do in order to clinch the championship,” he said.

“It’s true we stopped them (Nkumba) last season but this is a different level and we have to respect them. It’s the last game of the season and so everyone will give their best,” he added.

On the other hand, Nkumba’s head coach Suleiman Bbosa is highly optimistic believing that he will finally guide his team to glory.

“Just like we were not given a chance at the beginning, we come to the final as underdogs but with the belief that we possess, this is the right time to lift the trophy,” he
said.

The winner will receive a token of UGX 5,000,000 while the loser will also be given UGX 3,500,00.

The classification game will see Kampala University take on Makerere University Business School at Kavumba today.
