The 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football championship officially kicked off in Masaka city on Saturday, 27th April at various venues.
St Julian High School’s 6-0 victory over St Kagwa Bushenyi High School was one of the convincing and one sided performance on the opening day.
Simon Wanyama starred with a hat-trick in this contest. There were three other scorers; James Ssekate, Isaac Kakululu Mukisa and Patrick Ssenkusu for the maximum points at the Arena playground.

In some of the other games played; Kabalega SS defeated Hill View SS 4-0. Andy Mwesigwa and Blessed Sacrament Kimanya had identical 3-0 wins over Makobore High School and Tawheed Institute respectively.
Wakiso district representatives London College also humbled Bungangari Secondary School 3-0.
Amus College edged Rwakasinga Che 1-0 courtesy of Hakim Musaba’s second half goal.
Defending champion St Mary’s Kitende outwitted a hard fighting Kisozi Seed 1-0 with Denis Kisiriko on target.
Match day two will continue on Sunday, 28th April 2024 at different venues.
