Despite being four points behind table leaders BUL, KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru doesn’t see his side among those in the title race.

The Kasasiro beat UPDF 1-0 on Tuesday to move to 45 points and with nine points to fight for, the 4th placed side are mathematically among the sides with a chance to win the league this season.

“We are not in the title contention at all,” said Mubiru after the game on Tuesday.

“What we can do is keeping winning our games until the final day. It is in the hands of BUL and Vipers if they win their games and I don’t think they can recklessly lose matches,” he added.

Mubiru celebrated the win over the army side but wasn’t as impressed with the performance.

However, he hailed his lads for the resilience against a very aggressive side fighting for their life.

“We celebrate the three points but I am more concerned about the performance which was so good but that was expected especially after a very good game against a big team in Villa,” said Mubiru.

“But I am thankful for the points. We face a different side, very physical and aggressive and that challenged us but my boys gave it all.”

In other games played on Tuesday, Gaddafi beat Maroons 3-1 to keep their survival fight alive while URA and Mbarara City drew goalless at Kakyeeka.
