Express FC 1-2 Busoga United

Busoga United moved four points clear of the relegation zone after beating Express 2-1 at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku on Sunday.

Emmanuel Ajo scored twice inside twenty minutes before Isaac Wagoina netted the hosts’ consolation after the break.

The forward opened the scores in the 10th minute and doubled the lead ten minutes later.

Baker Mbowa was forced to withdraw calamitous goalkeeper Abdu Kimera for Abubaker Yunus before it could get worse.

Wagoina halved the deficit seven minutes after recess from the spot but Busoga United despite missing a penalty of their own held on for all points that take their tally to 25 although they remain 13th having played one more game than UPDF and Gaddafi who are still in contention to stay up.

Express’12th defeat of the season leaves them 9th with 32 points ahead of their trip to Kitende where wounded Vipers are lurking.

Busoga will play hosts to table leaders BUL in the Jinja derby on Wednesday May 8.
