FUFA through its Referees Disciplinary Panel has suspended three referees namely; William Oloya, Stephen Kimayo and Samuel Mbabali until the reminder of the 2023/24 season.

According to the decisions made by the aforementioned panel, the trio was found guilty of making errors in games officiated recently.

Kimayo (centre referee) and Mbabali (second assistant referee) officiated the game between NEC FC and Kitara FC played at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on 4th April 2024.

“In the 29th minute of the match, a foul was committed on a NEC FC player running towards goal. Mr. Kimayo awarded a free kick but the Kitara FC player who was the last man was shown a yellow card which was poor application of the laws of the game.” Reads part of the statement.

Mbabali on the other hand has been suspended for disallowing a genuine goal for Kitara FC in the same game.

The third referee suspended is Oloya for mistakes committed in the game between SC Villa and Mbarara City FC played on 30th March 2024 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

In the report, Oloya failed to award Mbarara City a genuine penalty.
