Joshua Lubwama has praised David Obua for improving the players as URA host NEC in a post Obua era.

Obua was sacked by the four-time league winners last week following defeat to Express and replaced by Robert Mukasa.

“First of all, as players, we are forever grateful for the former coach David Obua,” started Lubwama.

“I want to commend him for so many things. We have learnt a lot from him, taught us a lot about the game and we are forever grateful and wish him all the best. Thank you, coach,” he concluded.

On the game against NEC, Lubwama anticipates a tough game at their new home.

“It is an important game against a tough side which is even above us on the log. But we need to win to get our confidence back and so it is very important game to us.”

NEC won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Lugogo and will hope to complete a double over the tax men who are winless in their last four games on the bounce.

New coach Robert Mukasa is expected to make several changes in the line up with Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Nicholas Kabonge, Hudu Mulikyi and Najib Fesali all expected to play.

NEC who lie 5th on the log at the moment with 40 points will move joint second, one point adrift of leaders Kitara if secure maximum points.
