Jessy Lukoki has resigned from his duties as head coach for StarTimes Uganda Premier League entity Busoga United Football Club.

Lukoki cites a combination of factors at play for the decision to lay down the tools at the final bend of the 2023-2024 season.

“I have decided to step aside from duties at Busoga United Football Club. The working relationship with some of my technical staff is not healthy which puts me in a difficult position to execute my work chores. Also, the playing staff is not well motivated to turn up for daily sessions. This situation as a coach pushes me to wall to plan and make decisions” Lukoki who also worked at Masindi based Lady Doves Women Football Club this very season hinted.

The club has reportedly recalled their former coach Afan Ikoba to step in the shoes of the departing Lukoki to join veteran Lukyamuzi and Bright Dhaira (goalkeeping coach).

Last Thursday, Maroons humiliated Busoga United 3-0 at the Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Busoga United that re-branded from Kirinya Jinja SS Football Club has had a difficult period in the current season, managing just 4 victories in 23 matches played so far.

They have drawn 6 times and lost 13 matches with a total of 18 points, seating in the 14th position.

Busoga United will play host to Wakiso Giants on Friday, 26th April 2024 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
