Uganda Premier League side Vipers Sports Club has finally sacked head coach Livingstone Mbabazi.

The development was confirmed via the club website today Monday, April 8, 2024.

“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Livingstone Mbabazi,” the statement reads.

Mbabazi will be replaced by Richard Wasswa as the interim head coach until the end of the season.

Wasswa will be deputies by Jose Esdras Costa Lopez, Fred Muhumuza, Richard Kasule Bakabulindi, and goalkeeping coach Ali Kimera.

According to the club website, the search for the Vipers’ next coach is underway and an announcement will be made as soon as the process is complete.

Vipers lie third on the log with 41 points. They will return to action on Tuesday, April 9, as they take on SC Villa at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
