As SC Villa look to close in on the leading pack, Ronald Ssekiganda and company are aware of the importance of beating Bright Stars.

The two sides face off on Sunday with the Jogoos looking to keep pace with teams in the title race as they are five points adrift of new leaders BUL with two games in hand.

Ronald Ssekiganda speaking to the club media anticipates a tough encounter against Bright Stars but the coaches’ tactics and preparations gives him confidence.

“We understand the importance of tomorrow’s game, and we’re ready to go all out,” said Ssekiganda.

“All the next games are crucial, and we only have to win. Bright Stars is a tricky team, but I believe with the tactics that the coaches have given us, we will be able to come out victorious.”

Villa are winless in the last two outings drawing 1-1 with Busoga United and then goalless with champions Vipers SC.

Soltilo Bright Stars are coached by former Villa midfielder Joseph Mutyaba who is optimistic of getting a positive result.

“We have worked on everything in training and if we play as per the plan, we shall pick a result although it will be tough against a good side,” he said.

The hosts are without Arnold Odong (ankle injury), Simon Mukisa and Hakim Mutebi who are at school but the rest are available.

The visitors are without Yasin Mugume and Kiggundu but Sam Ssenyonjo and Isa Bugembe are available for selection.

The first round game at Kavumba ended in a 1-1 draw with Ivan Bogere, now out of Villa scoring a leveller to cancel out an early penalty from Nelson Ssenkatuka.
